For those of you looking for some relaxation, an approximate 20-minute taxi ride from St John’s along the west coast brings you to Hawksbill Beach Resort. Facing out towards the picturesque rocky islet that gives the resort its name is a beautiful scalloped line of four soft white sand beaches: Royal Palm, Seagrape, Honeymoon and Eden – the only ‘clothing-optional’ beach on Antigua (for those brave enough!).

The price of this tour includes a barbeque-style lunch on Royal Palm Beach, unlimited beers, soft drinks and rum punch, beach chairs, beach volleyball, a limbo competition and music. Sunfish, snorkeling equipment, wind surfers and paddle boats are free for use (they do need to be pre-reserved), and water-skiing is available for a charge (payable locally – US$15 at the time of printing). There is one tennis court (again, this needs to be pre-booked).

Royal Palm Beach is accessible by wheelchair; the other three beaches are accessed either by walking around the rocks, or through the hotel. Eden Beach – the longest and most secluded – is an approximate 10-minute walk from Royal Palm. There will be a walk from the ship to the departure point of the taxis, and vice versa (around 5 minutes in each direction). Please note that access to a hotel room is not included in the price, although there are changing facilities. No guarantee what activities and facilities will be available during your stay.
